Obituary of Jeffrey Braun

WATERLOO- Jeffrey M. Braun, 45, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday February 28, 2017.

Friends may call on Friday (March 3) from 4-6pm at the Cheney Funeral Home, 70 Main Street, Phelps. A memorial service will be held on Saturday (March 4) at 1pm at the Presbyterian Church, 24 Park Place, Geneva.

Jeff was born on April 23, 1971 and was the son of Joan Davis Braun and Gary A. Braun. Growing up in Geneva, he was an accomplished member of the football, hockey, lacrosse and swimming teams. He also enjoyed baseball, softball, tennis, golf and sailing.

Jeff was a graduate of Finger Lakes Community College and Keuka College, and received an MBA from Ashford University. He was a proud veteran of the US Marine Corps and a member of the Phelps American Legion Post #457.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Tammy; step-children Adam Scherbyn (Shonolee) of Clifton Springs and Shelby Scherbyn of Waterloo; step-grandson Brantley Scherbyn; his mother, Joan Braun of Geneva, NY and Estero, FL; brothers Christopher Braun of Geneva and Gregory (Carty) Braun of Atlanta, GA, and sister Kathryn (Ryan) Scrivener of Rochester, Kent, England. He was predeceased by his father, Gary Braun.
