Obituary of Glenn Sprague

Glenn A. Sprague
NEWARK/PHELPS–  Glenn A. Sprague, age 88, died on Tuesday (April 25, 2017) at the Newark Manor Nursing Home with family by his side.
Friends are invited to call from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday (April 29, 2017) at the Cheney Funeral Home 70 Main Street Phelps. A memorial service will follow at 12 p.m. with The Rev. Adrian Tierson officiating. Interment will be held at a later date in Woodlawn Cemetery in Canandaigua.
Memorial donations may be made to the House of John 14 Spring Street Clifton Springs, NY 14432.
Mr. Sprague was born on March 30, 1929 in Depauville, N.Y., the son of the late Milton and Katherine O’Dell Sprague. He retired from the John Holtz Automotive Group where he was the Parts Manager. Mr. Sprague was a Ball Room Dance instructor at the Arthur Murray Dance Studio where he met his wife Joyce. He served in the U.S. Army, enjoyed singing, golfing, and was a very handy man at all trades. He had a great sense of humor and love for
life, especially when it came to his wife, their nine children, and extended family.
He is survived by his children Steven (Cindi) Sprague of Farmington, N.M.,
Daniel Sprague of Rochester, N.Y., Peggy (Vincent) Dowell of Youngstown, N.Y., Deborah (James) Wentz of Winter Springs, Fla., Elizabeth (Norman) Dowdle of Phelps, N.Y., John (Betsy) Sprague of Fairport, N.Y., James (Courtney) Sprague of Clifton Springs, N.Y., Mary (Michael) Vienna of Phelps, N.Y., Donna (Robert) Tweedie of Lewiston, N.Y.; brother, James (Jean) Sprague of Sun City, Ariz.; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Joyce; daughters-in-law Lori Sprague and Joanne Nothnagle; two brothers John and Kent; and sister, Janet Baker.
Glenn's family would like to recognize the Newark Manor Nursing Home for the outstanding and loving care he received.
