Gerald Schafer

Phelps, Gerald K. Schafer age 90, went to be with the Lord on Saturday December 14, 2024 at Huntington Nursing Home in Waterloo.

Friends may call on Friday (Dec. 20) from 10am-11am at the Cheney Funeral Home 70 Main Street Phelps.
Funeral service will follow at 11am with Rev. Dr. Leigh Holder officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery with Military Honors.

Gerry was born on May 1, 1934 in Clifton Springs, NY the son of the late Kenneth and Beatrice Hammond Schafer. Gerald was a Veteran and enjoyed his time in Army. Gerry worked for Agway for 38 years in Palmyra, Newark and finished his career in Phelps. He loved to find things to tinker on and could fix or build just about anything. Gerry was always ready to help family and friends at a moments notice. He knew so much about so many things and was always the man we depended on to help us. Normally a quiet man, Gerry also had a great sense of humor and loved to pull practical jokes on his family. Gerry truly adored his children and grandchildren.

Gerald was predeceased by his wife Barbara and son Jeffrey
