Irvin L. Young Sr. age 97, passed away on Sunday June 1, 2025 at Rochester General Hospital.

Friends may call on Monday (June 9) from 10am-12pm at the Cheney Funeral Home 70 Main Street Phelps.
Funeral services will follow at 12pm with Rev. Brian Fellows officiating. Burial will be in South Lyons Cemetery.

Irvin was born on May 20, 1928 in Phelps, NY the son of the late Elkannah and Ethel Travis Young. He worked into his late 80's before retiring from the DeLong Co. in Clifton Springs, NY. Irvin enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved Old Country Music.

Irvin is survived by his wife Shirley Heusinger of Port Gibson

Step-daughter Bonnie (Glenn) Sutton of Newark
Brother Elkannah "Bud" (Cathy) Young of Phelps
Sister Ethel Graham of Palmyra
15 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren
Nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by sisters and brothers.
