Maxwell Roeland

–

Newark, New York

Maxwell Edward Roeland died unexpectedly on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at the age of 24.

Friends are invited to a Celebration of Life for Max on Saturday September 19, 2026 from 1-4pm at the Phelps American Legion, 1346 Rt.96 Phelps, New York 14532.

Maxwell was born August 20th, 2002 to Christopher and Mireille Roeland. Maxwell was born and raised in the town of Phelps, NY. He graduated from Midlakes in 2020 and worked for a local stone quarry and had recently started a new job opportunity with Villager. Maxwell was known for being a hard worker and was always doing something for someone. Even if he didn’t necessarily want to, he’d do it with a smile and expect nothing in return. He was ALWAYS doing something. He lit up every room he walked into, and usually that room would be shouting “Maxi’s here!” because who didn’t want to spend time with Max? He was a lover and loved to be loved. He had the BEST hugs, more like best squeezes anyone could ask for and he brought warmth and comfort just with his presence. He laughed loudly and no matter how he was feeling he was trying to make someone laugh. Maxwell will be remembered as the little boy who tagged along with his Dad everywhere he went, and it continued into adulthood. He called everyone little buddy especially his nieces but he was the original little buddy. Didn’t matter if it was a truck, tractor, heavy equipment, motorcycle or four wheeler, as long as it went vrrooom and had wheels, Max was on it. He loved his job, it involved all the equipment he grew up playing with and rocks. He did love rocks. He loved fishing with his Dad growing up and enjoyed taking Kelsie fishing down by the canal where they sat and chatted about the future. As an adult he found a love for hunting. Which gave him a love for guns and shooting league. As a member of the North Seneca sportsmen club he shot in the Little Brown Jug summer league with his Klee family. Last hunting season he started off with a bang and tagged himself a 10 point buck. Who he fondly named Bruce. And had him lovingly mounted for Kelsie to stare at forever. He loved all of his family HARD, with his parents at the very top of that list. He was a fantastic Uncle and did anything to make the kids happy. He was to be married to his high-school sweetheart next year and he wanted nothing more than to marry that girl.

Maxwell was taken far too soon from this world but made a profound impact on anyone who was lucky to know him. He is loved by so many. And he loved so many. He made every single one of us immensely proud. He is survived by: His Fiancé Kelsie Klee His parents Christopher and Mireille Roeland His siblings Abigayle (Nathan) Sheckler, Madeleine (Joshua) Tavano and Benjamin (Luke) Roeland. And nieces Everly, Maisie and Ivy. Paternal Grandparents, many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. As well as the entire Klee family.

It is requested that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made in memory of Max to the Midlakes Trap Team C/O Midlakes High School 1554 State Rt. 488 Clifton Springs, NY 14432
