Phelps, Michael D. Cooper also fondley known as "Coop" age 65 died unexpectedly at home on Thursday August 22, 2019.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Thursday August 29, 2019 4pm at the Cheney Funeral Home 70 Main Street Phelps with Rev Ellen Donnan officiating
Burial will be in Ovid Cemetery at a later date.
It is requested that memorial donations be made to the South Seneca Sportsmans Club 6894 Yarnell Road
Mike was born on May 17, 1954 in Geneva, NY the son of the late Leon and Edna Henderson Cooper.
Mike retired from the FLDDSO where he worked for over 37 years as a recreational worker. He also worked for many years at the Willard Psychiatric Center. Michael was a very kind and giving man. He was a true outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mike was very involved in Hunter Saftey and was a Hunter Saftey Course instructor for many years. He loved going to the Casino. Mike was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. His true passion was skydiving. He started skydiving at the age of 17 and contiuned for most of his life.
He is survived by his Brother Donald Cooper and his Fiancee Linda Kolbeck of AZ
Mike's longtime companion Stephanie Knobel of Phelps
And her children Michael Thomas (Ann) Knobel of North Carolina and Jessica Anne Knobel of Phelps.
Several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews and many close friends.
Dogs Parker and Ripley that Mike and Stephanie shared.
