Sandra Whitacre

Sandy Whitacre passed away surrounded by the comfort and love of family on Wednesday, May 27 at the age of 79 after a long battle with cancer.

Married to her husband, Ted, for 58 years, they had three daughters, Kimberly, Tammy and Terri (deceased 2013). Sandy was a warm, caring and compassionate person whose love of animals kept her surrounded by furry companions, large and small.

In her fight against cancer, she encountered many doctors and nurses at the University of Rochester's medical facilities who showed her kindness, compassion and hope. She and her family were especially thankful for the hospice team who provided invaluable care and support in her final days.

Per her wishes, no calling hours or services will be held.
