Sharon M Peters

Sharon M. Peters, age 74, died peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday (May 10, 2018) at Clifton Springs Hospital.
Friends may call on Friday (May 18) from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Cheney Funeral Home 70 Main Street Phelps. A memorial service will follow at 6 p.m. with Rev. Gail Conners officiating.

Sharon was born on October 13, 1943 in Clifton Springs, N.Y. the daughter of the late Milburn and Veronica Shaw Salisbury. She attended the nursing program at CCFL. Sharon worked as a Registered Nurse for the Fingerlakes DDSO in Newark for over 30 years. She was a caring soul and generous to all that knew her. Tim McGraws song Humble and Kind best describes Sharon. Her family was most important.
She is survived by 3 children Garry (Vicki) Guggenbickler of Yulee, Fla., Lisa (David) Fox of Phelps, Dennis Peters III of Phelps; grandchildren Joshua Ross, Tyler Guggenbickler, Lacey Peters and Shaun Kinney; great-grandchildren Xander (Ross) Jensen and Elliott Ross; brother, Russell (Donna) Salisbury of Phelps; nephews Richard Salisbury of Elmira and Robert (Christine) Salisbury of Phelps; great-niece and great-nephew Lexi and Richie Salisbury.
She was predeceased by her longtime companion, Steve Stapleton and extended family.
