Obituary of David Darling

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of David Francis Darling (1969-2022). He was taken too early after a short but courageous battle with cancer. David graduated from Midlakes High School in 1987. He was loved by teachers and fellow students. He played soccer and enjoyed ski club with his friends. He excelled at Syracuse University, receiving his BS and MS in Environmental Engineering. He has worked the past 24 years at American Coatings Association as the Vice President of Health, Safety, and Environmental Affairs in Washington D.C. For the past 25 years, David has lived in Huntington, Maryland, with his wife Alice, daughter Angelina, and son John. He would visit his hometown often to see his family and share stories. His laugh and dimples will be greatly missed. He had a kind, soft, and easy going personality. His siblings were blessed to share special time with him at his home in the last days of his journey. One last toast was made to “family” with him. He was also visited by his lifelong friend Gary Anderson during this time. David is predeceased by his parents, Clarence and Jean Darling. He is survived by siblings Richard (Mary Ellen) Darling , Barb (Jack) Braden, Ronald Darling, Robert (Sharon) Darling, Deb (Skip) Vine, Mike Darling, Sue (David) Rasmussen, Kris (Bob Crosby) Darling, and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held at Phelps American Legion in Phelps, New York on Saturday, February 19th at 2 p.m. Donations for David’s children can be directed to Kris Darling, at 2300 Wheat Road Clifton Springs, New York, 14432.
