Obituary of Alexis Campbell

The length of a miracle doesn’t discredit how miraculous it actually was.

Alexis Marie Campbell, age 20, passed away on November 10, 2018 at Strong Memorial Hospital; the same place where she started her legacy of stealing hearts when she was born.

Alexis attended school through the Wayne Finger Lakes BOCES Program at the Midlakes and Newark Education Centers where she was set to graduate this coming June. She enjoyed time with her classmates, teachers and therapists- though when it came to actually working, she was sure to let them know just how much she did or did not want to do!

From day one, she found a way to capture everyone she came in contact with through her infectious laugh, beaming smile and ability to love without limitation.

Lexi loved her family and siblings, babies who would climb her wheelchair and snuggle in her lap, soft animals and the many incredibly selfless in-home aides & medical personnel whom cared for her throughout the 20 beautiful years she was here smiling with us. She had a knack for turning just about anyone from friend to family.

When Lexi transitioned from our arms here on earth with her dad, Drew, devoted step mom, Erica, sister, Chelsea and (brother-in-law/ biggest crush ever), Josh right by her side, she was immediately welcomed to Heaven in what was sure to be the most astounding reunion full of bear hugs and laughs from her Mother, Jessica Willett, older brother, Christopher Kauder, Paternal Grandfather, Edward Campbell, Uncle, Jason Willett, Great Uncle, Bob Campbell, many Great Grandparents and Football Sunday Buddy, Brandon Jeffries.

On earth, she will be forever missed by her Dad, Andrew (Erica) Campbell of Clifton Springs; older sister, Chelsea (Josh) DeBoover of Phelps; younger brothers, Tristan (step mom Lynn Rider of Dundee), and Blake Campbell, her step sisters, Hannah & Alivia; Maternal Grandmother, Margaret Willett of Saranac Lake; Maternal Grandfather, Roger (Pat) Willett of Saranac Lake; Paternal Grandmother, Sue Campbell of Clifton Springs; Paternal Great Grandmother, Betty Straw; Aunt’s, Uncle’s, Cousins and the many many friends she claimed as family.

While those who knew her are certain the world is a little dimmer having lost her radiant smile, look to the skies & the stars and know that the extra glimmer of radiant light is her reminding us that all you really need is a pinch of faith for a miracle, a dash of love without judgement, and the company of good people to find the strength hiding deep inside of you push ahead and make an impact on the world.
