Obituary of Nancy M. Smith

 

Phelps, Nancy M. Smith age 83, died peacefully on Saturday December 22, 2018 at Clifton Springs Hospital with her family by her side.

Friends may call on Friday (December 28) from 4-7pm at the Cheney Funeral Home 70 Main Street Phelps. A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held on Saturday (December 29) 10am at New Life Assembly of God 7608 State Rt. 31 Lyons NY 14489. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall.

It is requested that memorial donations be made to the New Life Assembly of God 7608 State Rt. 31 Lyons, NY 14489.

Nancy was born on April 12, 1935 in Bellona, NY the daughter of the late William and Frances Bushen Murdock. She grew up in Waterloo. NY as a child before moving to Phelps where she has been a lifelong resident and raised her family. Nancy retired from the Finger Lakes DDSO where she was a direct care giver. She was also an Election Inspector for the Republican Party.  Nancy always welcomed anyone that was in need into her home or just to have dinner with the family.  A trait that all of her children believe in and practice in their lives. Nancy was also a very strong woman and raised her children to be “Tough as Nails”.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years Harold Smith Sr. of Phelps
