Peggy was born October 6, 1961 in Canandaigua, N.Y. to the late Edward and Helen Ostrander Denniston. As the last child of 8, she enjoyed a memorable upbringing. Peggy attended SUNY Fredonia and went on to hold a number of positions, largely in the healthcare sector; she would also go on to meet and marry her husband, Lawrence “Larry” Smith on May 20, 1993. Peggy was a strong-minded, independent woman yet she remained kindhearted; her generosity of spirit and sense of humor will be missed by those who knew her. Peggy’s favorite pastimes included reading, gardening, crocheting, and practicing her Catholic faith; though her greatest joy in life came from caring for the animals on her small farm, and spending time with her beloved family and friends.

She is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Laurence Smith of Clifton Springs ; her children, Hannah and Robert “Bob” Smith, both of Clifton Springs; her stepson, Jay Smith, of Geneva;

Siblings James (Kathleen) Denniston of Palmyra, Carol (George) Barry of Canandaigua, Susan Modzel of Ontario, Louise Patterson of Ontario, George (Kathleen) Denniston of Palmyra, Helen “Lenny” (Andy) Bills of Palmyra, Brother in law Charles Sweeney of Rochester.

Mother in law Jeanne Smith of Clifton Springs

 many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
