Obituary of Alice Esther Iddings

Alice Esther Iddings went home to the loving arms of her husband, son and faithful dog Sandi, just shy of her 85th Birthday on January 29, 2019.

There will be no prior calling hours. A celebration of life will be held in the spring at a time to be announced.

It is requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Clifton Springs Hospital ICU Unit, Fairville Fire Department or Newark Arcadia Volunteer Ambulance.

Mrs. Iddings was born on February 25, 1934 in Port Gibson, N.Y. the daughter of the late Arthur and Leah Hinkley DeCann. She loved Roses and Gladiolus, had a great sense of humor, couldn’t resist a good Hallmark Movie, and her favorite saying was “Don’t talk to me from 1 to 2 p.m., my soap opera, Days of Our Lives, is on.” Mrs. Iddings was a Die Hard Buffalo Bills Fan and never missed watching a game. She was a past member of the Fairville Fire Dept. Ladies Aux.

She is survived by her son, Jeffery (Michelle) Iddings; grandchildren Ashley (Addam) Deon, Christopher Young, Tiffany (Robert) Barton, Darcianne and Beatrice Orbaker; great-grandchildren Elliana, Addam and Selena Deon, Sebastian Barton; sister, Eleanor Craig; brother, Roger DeCann; daughters-in-law Lorilea Iddings and Michelle Iddings; many nieces and nephews from Newark and Florida; dear friends to numerous to mention.

Funeral arrangements have been made with the Cheney Funeral Home 70 Main Street Phelps.
