To sum Rae up in a few sentences is nothing short of impossible. To the lucky bunch who knew her, Rae was either a daughter, sister, mother, wife, aunt, grandmother or friend. To the world Rae was kind and gentle, a person who welcomed everyone and anyone at her dinner table. Something her kids’ friends took advantage of many times growing up…The woman could cook!!! Rae loved the water and the open road. She had a passion for exploration and adventure. She left San Francisco with her husband Doug and their kids Allie and Steve aged 10 and 7. They travelled across the country to pick up their future home, a 35-foot Catamaran. They performed a shakedown cruise by sailing the intercoastal waterway to Florida, where they began a 5-year Caribbean adventure. While open-water sailing Rae proved to be an outstanding sailor, as well as an amazing mother. She home schooled her kids, was the head chef and had a creative answer to any problem while always furthering her passion for the arts. Returning to land Rae resumed her professional career at Kodak. She was an accomplished business professional spanning many years through a number of different assignments at Kodak, Danka and Ceridian. Due to her writing talents, she was often called upon to create, compose, edit, and promulgate business documents, supporting many diverse enterprises. During her professional tenure she was a much sought-after resource not only performing writing responsibilities, but providing technical expertise in the determination for the delivery format for the information. She was on the leading edge when it came to incorporating computers into the learning experience. Which she excelled at. All along the way, with a smile on her face and a song in her heart. Sri Chinmoy captures her spirit perfectly with his words, “Death is not the end, death can never be the end. Death is the road. Life is the traveler. The soul is the guide” Rae’s loss will be felt deeply, but she will live on through the lasting memories she has created with every soul she has touched.
